Mary E. Roach is a former early childhood teacher who now writes across genres and age categories, most recently thrillers for the young adult audience and romances for the adult audience.

When she is not writing stories for and about powerful women, Mary enjoys running, teaching martial arts, and disappearing into the wilderness. Mary lives in St. Paul with her fiancé and their very disagreeable cat, Lulu.

Mary’s debut mystery novel, BETTER LEFT BURIED, about two girls who play detective in a small, insular town full of deadly family secrets that go back generations, is out now.

SEVEN FOR A SECRET, a thriller following a furious girl dead set on survival (and vengeance) will follow in 2025.

WE ARE THE MATCH, Mary’s debut romance, is a modern reimagining of the myth of Helen of Troy, in which Helen is a mobster’s daughter and Paris is the woman hellbent on destroying her—if they don’t fall for each other first. WE ARE THE MATCH will debut in July 2025.

Mary is represented by Claire Friedman at Inkwell Management.
